The Perspectives of David Hale
Join us for the opening reception of The Perspectives of David Hale.
David Hale is a digital artist and writer based in San Antonio, Texas. His work explores the lines between art, language, and digital realities through the use of technology. He uses an amalgamation of photography, digital editing, and computer programming to create an aesthetic merger of surrealism and impressionism.
This series of work seeks to highlight how our interactions with the world are no longer simply biological, but also digital. We use technology to navigate, augment memory, and communicate. As such, we must think of technologies, the cellphone for instance, as not tools but external organs. The aesthetic of David’s work speaks to this by pixel sorting images to give the effect of information being “digitized” while the shifting colors represents the simultaneous yet different perspectives, we as a society share when gazing at a subject.
