Artist Statement
Through her interactive installations, photography, and printmaking, Julie Ledet explores the ritual behavior she finds specific to her native Southern Louisiana, examining the undeniable allure surrounding its culture and people. Religion, language, and the unique ways of life all converge to be exemplified in the subtle vignettes Ledet creates. Pulling from these sources is both a comfort and a means for understanding the obscurities of her upbringing.
