Reusable Macramé Bag with Marta Francine

Come create your very own handwoven market bag with me at Artpace!

In this 3-hour hands on macramé class you will learn how to assemble and customize a durable, reusable, and washable macramé market bag made out of organic cotton cord.

I am very excited for this workshop because if you are anything like me, you will enjoy having a handmade lightweight bag to carry with you to the farmers market, grocery store, lake trip, etc. knowing you are contributing to a more sustainable living. This bag is not only beautiful in its simplicity, but has infinite uses and you will be able to recreate it as many times as you want in the future after learning the technique. During the workshop you will learn basic and intermediate knotting skills that you will use to assemble your bag. You will have the option to customize your bag’s handles using an assortment of color string I will have available for your choosing. This bag will use 3mm ecru cotton string and will measure approximately 12×18 inches when complete. As an added bonus, you will go home with a cotton drawstring bag insert, perfect for storing small items inside your bag to keep them from shuffling around. No experience necessary. This is a combination seated/standing class and light snacks/drinks will be provided.

To recap, your RSVP will include:

– 3 hour hands on instruction

– Approx. 400 ft of organic cotton string from Niroma Studio

– Assorted color rope to customize handle

– Take home pattern to recreate the lesson at home

– Medium size cotton drawstring bag insert for your finished macramé bag

– 20% off coupon for future MF workshops or custom orders

– Snacks and Drinks
