Reception & Artist Talk: Octavio Quintanilla

Join us Monday, September 30 for a reception and artist talk with San Antonio’s Poet Laureate Octavio Quintanilla. We’ll celebrate his FRONTEXTO project, on view through December 29.

Quintanilla’s FRONTEXTO project, (the term frontexto is a blend of frontera and texto, border/text) began on New Year’s Day of 2018 as a challenge to himself to carve some time out of each day to write. His goal was to write a poem each day in Spanish and post it on social media. Quintanilla’s daily practice quickly began to incorporate drawing and has become an exploration into the relationships of text and image.

The talk will begin at 6pm. Admission is free and open to the public.
