Reading Red Book Club: Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists? (ONLINE – Registration Closed)
Join Reading Red – an Artpace book club – and explore literature that has inspired artists and exhibitions. In conjunction with Artpace’s 25th anniversary, we continue to celebrate Linda Pace’s legacy by discussing books and articles authored by women.
To coincide with the ongoing Hudson Showroom exhibition: Visibilities: Intrepid Women of Artpace, Reading Red will discuss Linda Nochlin’s essay “Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists?” Originally published in the January 1971 issue of ARTNews, Nochlin explores institutional obstacles that have prevented women in the West from succeeding in the arts. Visibilities: Intrepid Women of Artpace closes Sunday, April 26.
Our bi-monthly book club is going virtual! Join us on Saturday, April 25 at 2pm by signing up through the form below. The virtual meeting information will be emailed to you by Wednesday, April 22.
