Peace and Remembrance Unveiling & Blessing

Join us for the unveiling & blessing of the Peace and Remembrance restoration. Lead artist Crystal Tamez will be on-hand to answer questions and there will be food and light refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.

Peace and Remembrance is San Anto’s 17th mural. An all-female team of twelve and thirteen year old artists designed and painted this mural to honor Westside victims of inner-city violence, including drive-by shootings, gang violence, and domestic violence. Each name painted into the mural represents a community member. Crystal was one of the original artists to work on this mural.

Every year on Dia de los Muertos, San Anto makes a procession from its Centro on El Paso and Chupaderas to the Peace and Remembrance mural, where community members add a new name to the wall and celebrates the lives of their loved ones.​
