Opening Reception | Melanie Rush Davis: A Requirement of Time
Southwest School of Art is pleased to host an opening reception for “Melanie Rush Davis: A Requirement of Time” on Friday, August 30, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm in the Russell Hill Rogers Galleries at 1201 Navarro.
Melanie Rush Davis: A Requirement of Time” is an exhibition documenting a lifetime of photography by the celebrated “pinhole queen” of San Antonio, Melanie Rush Davis (1955–2018) including dozens of portraits, parades, and haunted locations presented in a linear series.
As an artist, author, teacher and mentor, she was a beloved figure at Southwest School of Art where she taught pinhole photography for 30 years to aspiring artists. Her work has been shown throughout the world.
This show is a 2019 FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA Exhibition. It will remain on display through Sept. 29.
