Opening Reception: Abinadi Meza & Cory Imig
SSA presents summer exhibitions by renowned artists Cory Imig and Abinadi Meza. Please join us for the opening reception on Thursday, June 13, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm in the Russell Hill Rogers Galleries at 1201 Navarro.
The reception and the exhibitions are free and open to the public.
“Line Describing a Space” is Cory Imig’s first exhibition in Texas. Imig is an artist, educator, and arts administrator. Her work takes the form of large scale installations that alter spaces physically, visually, and temporally. These installations are made through a process of building, moving, observing, and rearranging the assembled spaces that surround us.
Abinadi Meza is a visual artist, filmmaker and sound artist. He is a graduate of SCI-Arc (the Southern California Institute of Architecture) and holds degrees in art, architecture and critical theory. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Houston where he is the founding faculty of the Interdisciplinary Practices and Emerging Forms (IPEF) MFA program, and Co-founder of the Desert Unit for Speculative Territories (DUST) program, an international research studio working at the intersections of spatial practice, critical theory and contemporary art.
