Opaque Art Exhibit

I am excited to invite you to my studio for a preview of my latest series of work titled “OPAQUE”.
When I was younger, I spent some time in the Garden District of New Orleans, wandering through old abandoned buildings, looking for objects that had purpose in the past. I remember being drawn to the empty warehouses that were skirted with weeds and forgotten treasures. High above, in careful alignment, the aged and broken windows reflected the light of another day; streaming in soft opaque colors, creating patterns in faded frames.
These sentinels, of rusted iron and steel that have weathered the storm, serve as a reminder to us all: that we, like the city, are strong, resilient, and capable of rebirth.
Through abstract media, glazed, layered and encaustic, the random assembly of squares provides an opportunity to reimagine the future while celebrating the beauty of what was once abandoned.
