Noreste, A Virtual Art Exhibition Online Conversation
The Center for Latin American Arts is proud to showcase the virtual exhibition Noreste, which has brought together the talent of renowned artists from both sides of the Rio Grande River. In this exhibition, César A. Martínez (San Antonio, Texas), Rigoberto González (McAllen, Texas), and Mario Jiménez (Matamoros, México), examine culture and their identity in this liminal space that is the borderlands.
This panel will present a discussion with the exhibiting artists César A. Martínez, Mario Jiménez Díaz, and our UTRGV faculty member Rigoberto González. The CLAA is honored for this roundtable to be co-moderated by Dr. Patricia Ruiz-Healy of Ruiz-Healy Art galleries in San Antonio and New York and UTRGV Assistant Professor Dr. Christen García and is hosted and organized by Dr. Katherine McAllen. We look forward to this engaging discussion to provide closer examinations of the artworks by these artists and guest moderators.
