Metropolis featuring the works of David Hale
Metropolis utilizes a glitch aesthetic and manic coloration to show different perspectives of the same scene simultaneously. In this way, the work associates itself with cubism while also utilizing aspects of pop art, Impressionism, and Art Deco. The subjects of these works are typically urban landscapes that have been re-imagined using a glitch aesthetic to represent how we all understand urban areas differently yet similarly and again, simultaneously. Metropolis aims to present a mixture of utopian and dystopian subject matters with the goal of showing a comprehensive view of a city.
Show is free and open to all ages.
