Lecture: The Sword and the Shield with Dr. Peniel E. Joseph
Noted as one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Must-Read Books of 2020, The Sword and the Shield brilliantly weaves the biographies of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Junior—two remarkable men of the Civil Rights Movement. This revisionist biography provides us a nuanced analysis of Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., and their relationship towards one another. It also re-examines the movement and era they both came to define.
