Lecture: Gender, Imagination, and Resistance

Author, activist, and teacher Jennifer Finney Boylan reads from her work, including her memoir She’s Not There, the first bestselling work by a transgender American. She considers the changing landscape for LGBTQ Americans, writers, and people of good heart, and encourages readers to engage with art, and with each other, as a means of promoting understanding and changing the world.

Join for a book-signing of She’s Not There outside of the Chiego Lecture Hall after the lecture. Books will be available for purchase in the Museum Store and after the lecture.

Space is limited. Fee (includes admission to exhibitions Andy Warhol: Portraits and Transamerica/n: Gender, Identity, Appearance Today): McNay members $25; nonmembers $35; educators, teens, and students $15. Register online at mcnayart.org or call 210.805.1768. This lecture is a program of the Louis A. and Frances B. Wagner Lecture Series.
