Decolonizing Art Workshop!

✨ Xingonas in the Pit Collective is excited to present our first in a series of D.I.Y Workshops!

✨ In this workshop led by artist Suzy González, participants will discuss critical frameworks when observing art and art history as we study examples of exploitation and appropriation towards POC (people of color) by European artists. We will examine the continued colonization occurring in today’s art world and academia. We will then focus on contemporary artists working with issues of decolonization/reindigenization, food as medicine, and ancestral knowledge.

✨ Following the lecture will be an interactive art-making workshop based on our collective definitions of decolonization. Open to all kinds of artists and creatives! All-ages with a $5 suggested donation.
