Countdown City

Join the South Side Living and Maker Spaces in the newly minted SPACE C7, with our recently announced Creative Director and Curator Jeff Wheeler, for his inaugural exhibit: Countdown City. Featuring many of the 2-1-0’s most celebrated artists, the group show will include: Cesar Martinez, Gary Sweeney, Ken Little, Chris Sauter, Susan Budge, Cruz Ortiz Art, Jennifer Ling Datchuk, Mira Hnatyshyn, Hiromi Stringer, Sarah Castillo, and Andy Benavides (all confirmed at this time). In addition to the main exhibit, Wheeler has planned several pop-up shows off the main gallery, in which he says will be full of surprises. One of these galleries will be dedicated to the memory of Wheeler’s friend and collaborator, the recently departed and much loved Texas artist, Daniel Johnston. On view will be some of Daniel’s work from Wheeler’s collection along with some of their collaborations and the sweet sounds of Daniel’s music.

Guests will be treated to bites and beverages from local Southside businesses. Additionally, guests will be able to tour the SOUTH SIDE Living + Maker spaces, the recently opened 65-unit reclaimed warehouse, turned one-bedroom studio and loft apartments.
