Artist Business Workshop

The City of San Antonio Department of Arts & Culture, in partnership with Launch SA, is hosting a business workshop for artists to learn business and copyright laws basics. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 2-5 p.m. at Launch SA, located inside the San Antonio Central Library at 600 Soledad. The workshop will begin with an introduction to Launch SA and the available resources in San Antonio to help progress artists’ understanding of their business. Participants will learn about building the structure of a business as an individual making art from representatives of the LiftFund Women’s Business Center. Topics covered include time management, budgeting, and general business practices and structure that are important to progress forward with an art business in San Antonio.

The workshop will also highlight the importance and applicability of intellectual property in the art world with a session led by Nick Guinn, registered patent Attorney with Gunn, Lee & Cave, P.C.

Free parking for up to three hours will be available inside the garage attached to the library when participants notify the garage attendant that they are attending the workshop at Launch SA.
